Academics

The Epsilon Iota chapter of Tri Delta here at Allegheny focuses on supporting sisters in all aspect of their academics. Our chapter strives to maintain a high level of academic standing. In the Fall 2015 semester the sorority as a whole accomplished an average GPA of 3.21. Sisters are often found studying together in various places on campus such as in the library during our study room that is scheduled at least once a week or other academic buildings located on campus. Some of the academic programs we have include the study room as well as “Study Buddies” which is for our new members who are paired with an experienced member that have similar academic interests and goals to help them bond and encourage good academics. Not only do sisters support each other, but our chapter also recognizes members who have shown a commitment to their academics. Members who have won any awards given by the college are always recognized and we use the “Smarty Pants Jar” as another way of recognizing our members. If the weekly topic applies to the member they place their name in the jar. Topics include; getting an A on an assignment or exam, helping another sister with academics, showing improvement in their classes and more. As a chapter we do whatever we can to “assist our members in every possible way” to academically perform the best they can.
